“A model for Optimal Location of Urban Bus Terminals”
In Chile, the urban public transportation is managed by many private companies that are legally required to have a bus terminal in one of the extremes of each route. Due to the high costs and limited land availability, most of the companies have not been able to meet the requirement. We present a model that optimally locates these terminals from a set of potential locations and show the result of its application in Concepcion, the Chilean second largest city.
